Initial equipment cost

Compared to investing in a traditional PRV, the cost of a DIFGEN® is indisputably higher. The reasons for this, is that the DIFGEN® is an advanced flow and pressure management system.

Maintenance cost
The maintenance cost of the DIFGEN® system is very similar to a traditional and mechanical PRV. The maintenance procedure takes approximately 6 to 12 hours per year.

Installation cost
The installation cost of the DIFGEN® compared to a traditional PRV is very similar. The DIFGEN® is using standard flange connections and there is minimal interference with existing infrastructure.

Pressure management
The DIFGEN® system has a superior pressure/flow control accuracy and responsiveness when compared with PRV’s with up and downstream pressure control, flow rate and level control as well as pumping/boosting capability

Water hammer

Water hammer is a common issue when using traditional PRV’s. Water hammer often occurs when a valve is closed suddenly in a pipeline system, and a pressure wave propagates in the pipe. The helical construction of the DIFGEN® makes for a pulsation free design to control and eliminate the problem of water hammer

Flow and pressure measurement
The DIFGEN® system continuously controls and measure both the flow and pressure. A feature not commonly available in traditional PRVs.

Pressure boosting
The DIFGEN® can boost the pressure when needed using the central control software. This is not an option with traditional PRV’s.

Energy production
The DIFGEN® is unique in that it generates pure power from the pressure drop in fluids. The generated power can be used to reduce your own net power bill or sold to the power grid for profit.
